Watersports.. In October.. brrr!

To celebrate my brother Paul and my Dad's birthdays.. both of which are in the summer.. we booked a day for the whole family to do some paddle boarding at the New Forest lakes. Due to all of us being very busy people.. the summer planned funday turned into an autumn/winter day of tightly being wrapped up in wetsuits praying we didn't fall in!
Paddle boarding is alot of fun, especially trying to knock each other off and get two people on a board. Ashton managed to stay dry!! though I did try very hard to get her in.. Steve went in first.. but Paul defenately fell off the most. As soon as he got cocky, making fun of others falling in, he seemed to fall in head first. The weather stayed dry, though it was NOT warm at all, but the sun was shining. It was a really good day, We haven't laughed so much as a family in a long time.. I love my family :) Happy birthday Paul and Dad!

Sunday Funday

This sunday as one of our double dates Lou and Scott had us over for dinner and movies between church and a fireside in the evening. Lou cooked a great dinner and we watched Singles Ward 1&2, they are so funny!! I love watching mormon movies that make fun of us.. that makes it ok for me to do it ;)

Then we headed to a conversion story fireside, where some of my favourite people told the story of how they found the Gospel and how it changed theit lives. It was a really great night so we finished it with a walk around a local nature reserve with a little group. We went to find the huge deckchair nearby, for a classic photo-op, then on for a walk in the cold, wind and rain, singing our hearts out. Lovely sunday :)

The monsters of the deep..fishtank..

This weekend when I was visiting Chase in Weymouth I was eager to go and check out the local Sealife park, and it was so good!! It's always a difficulty for me with fish.. firstly, i'm allergic to all of them, but most of all.. I am TERRIFIED of sharks!! and they had plenty at this park. The place was really cool, with trails to follow and different houses to look into. The otters were defenately the cutest, seals a close second. Although.. If you don't know what sound a seal makes, gag a little.. pretend to be sick.. yeah, that's what these seals sounded like. There was a long 'ocean tunnel' where the fish could swim above and beside you, luckily the 20 foot shark was asleep in the corner.. if he'd been awake I don't know if i'd have made it out alive.. Chase was forever my knight in shining armour, but I did leave the park with my fears still intact. Oh, plus a gorgeous little stuffed turtle that we called Gumbo after one of the huge turtles in the tunnel. Very fun day with the love of my life, thanks Chase :)

Bevan & Amy...

You are cordially invited to the wedding of Bevan Adams and Amy Pearce...

Bevan is one of my really good friends and this week he married the love of his life, the beautiful Amy. Their wedding was very short notice, but so pretty! and perfect for the two of them. Chase was the best man and gave a really good speech.. in which he tried, and failed, to teach Bevan a cheer for his new wife after the Branch Presidents council that a husband should be his wifes 'best cheerleader'. It was a really wonderful day and i'm so happy that Bevan has found such a wonderful girl to spend the eternities with, he deserves every happiness and even though they will move to Utah soon, as that's where Amy is from, their new adventure will be so exciting. Plus, my mans a Utard too.. so maybe we'll see each other more often than normal! :) We love you Bevan, thanks for giving us so many laughs and memories. Amy, your dress was the best i've EVER seen! ;) we look forward to our new friendship with you. Good luck with everything, We'll miss you!!!

General Conference

It's only been in the recent years that I have grown to love general conference and this year I was so excited. Chase came down for the weekend and we got to as many sessions as we could. Conference didnt disappoint and was fantastic. So many inspiring talks were given and I left feeling uplifted, strengthened and with answers to some long standing questions. I'm so thankful for conference and the blessings that it brings when we prepare and attend! My favourite talk so far (I still have a sessions left to watch online) has been that of Henry B. Eyring. But of course, Jeffrey R. Holland always gives fantastic addresses.

We also got some incredible news from the prophet that worthy women are now allowed to serve missions from the age of 19!! That's amazing. It was only a year ago that I was seriously considering going on a mission and all of my friends are now preparing and it's so wonderful. The work of the Gospel is moving forward at an incredible rate and i'm so excited!!
