Late in the summer is the time when you start wishing you had been on holiday.. and even though I managed to go abroad twice already this year, Chase had the travel bug so when our French trip fell through with our friends we decided to hire a car and take ourselves to the beautiful country of Wales for a few days. Seeing old things, new things, pretty things, WET things. It rained every day and it was freezing cold in most of the hostels we stayed in but we had a fantastic time. We stopped at lots of old churches to sing hymns acapella and even got asked by two vicars if we would like to join their choirs. We love singing and we love to share the gospel with people that way. We took an amazing walk on the cliffs and saw wild seals and dolphins in the bay below us! We sat and watched them from the edge of the cliff and it was like sitting on the edge of the word, breathtaking. We saw lots of cathedrals, castles and ruined palaces. We had a great time just cruising around and deciding where we wanted to see each day, a break was just what we needed and with all that romantic scenery and more trips planned around the world we are more in love than ever :)
I just love this picture, we were waiting for the guide to go home for the night from a nearby ruin so we could jump the fence and go inside (which we did and it was not worth paying for! YES to breaking in!) So we decided to kill some time in the graveyard..which led to a pretty bridge.. which led to a field full of such friendly cows! These cows were dispersed all over the place but as soon as Chase started to Moo they came over to say hey, I love cows!
This was 'sitting on the end of the earth' on St Davids head where we watched the Dolphins and Seals. It was raining hard, on top of sea spray and the cold wind, but it was once in a lifetime.
We went to a place called Devils Bridge, which is a series of bridges, stairs, ladders and viewpoints amidst a huge waterfall. It was beautiful and we were able to climb all over the place. Of course it rained most of the morning we were there, but it didnt stop us appreciating what a fantastic world we live in!
We did quite a bit of rock climbing when we could, i've actually flipped this photo on it's side, but if there had been a rock which Chase could have scaled like this, he would have done it!
On one of our many trips to cathedrals, we stopped in St Davids which is apparently the smallest town in Europe, to sing in the catherdral and look around the palace. Chase wanted to pose for some artistic photo.. but in the process.. HE FELL IN THE RIVER! ha, i laughed for such a long time and i'm so happy that i was ready with the camera!!
On the sunday evening we decided to stop by a famously beautiful beach called Tenby on our way to our hostel. It was dark and freezing and raining but I couldn't resist going in the water. The scenery was so gorgeous that we made the hours trip back down the coastline the next day to see it in the daylight.
